Description
What is Stress?
The fight, flight or freeze response is embedded into human nature and we, as human beings, experience physical changes in our bodies, which fade after the threat or the perceived threat has passed. Stress is not a mental health issue, however, the ongoing and enduring impact of it, can lead to conditions such as anxiety and depression. Stress occurs when your body stays in a state of high alert, due to situations or events that you are currently experiencing in your life.
What do the terms Emotional Health and Wellbeing mean?
Definitions include “a state of emotional and mental good health and wellbeing” and “the ability to remain emotionally and mentally well in and after stressful and adverse situations. Stress and adversity can come in the shape of family or relationship problems, health problems, or workplace and financial worries”.
