First Aid Trainer / Assessor

Introduction

This course is designed to enable the successful candidate to train and assess Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved First Aid courses.

Successful candidates

On successful completion candidates will be qualified to train and assess First Aid courses for HSE approved companies.

This course will enable you to teach the following courses after completion:

• HSE Approved 3 Day First Aid at Work
  HSE Approved 2 Day First Aid at WorkRefresher
• 1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work
  ½ Day Emergency Aid
  1 & 2 Day Paediatric First Aid

Successful candidates

Candidates must be able to provide evidence of the following:

• A current, in date FAW certificate (unless registered General Nurse or Medical Practitioner
• Training qualification and/or experience
• Background in First Aid within the workplace

Content

The course will be run over three days and will include the following:

• 4MAT system of education
• First aid subject workshops
• First aid changes 2005 (updated in 2010)
• First Aid at Work 3 day course delivery, assessment and administration
• First Aid at Work 2 day refresher delivery, assessment and administration
• Emergency First Aid / Appointed Person delivery, assessment and administration
• Course equipment and resource requirements
